about me
Hi, I’m Marcie. I wear a flower in my hair every day. Underneath the flower, I am a lesbian in the conservative Midwest, United States, struggling with chronic pain and mental illness.
My diagnoses include rheumatoid arthritis, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). While I didn’t seek mental health treatment until my mid-20s, I have struggled with anxiety and perfectionism my entire life.
In my mental health with marcie blog and videos, I talk about my experiences with mental health in the hopes of inspiring others to seek help and not feel so alone. In my yoga with marcie videos, I aim to improve my mental health and chronic pain through yoga.
My goal is to end the stigma around mental health. It took me far too long to seek treatment for my own mental health because of the stigma around getting help, so I want to make it my mission to ensure everyone feels comfortable reaching out for help and is not ashamed of their mental health conditions.
